Why do we focus on Under-Represented Minority Groups?
The American Physical Therapy Association and Grand Valley State University DPT leadership have identified African-American, Hispanic, and Indigenous groups as critical to improving access and reducing disparities in the profession. We aim to make physical therapy a more equitable profession by awarding DPT students from URM groups with scholarships to do our part to make systematic change.
